In response to the call of Sichuan University Youth League Committee for summer holiday social practices with the theme of “I Love My Country ----service for construction of the quake-hit areas as a gift for the 60th anniversary of the founding of PRC”, Law School Youth League Committee held the 2009 summer holiday social practices activity ---“I Love My Country” with the aim of further practicing Scientific Outlook for Development and actively participating the voluntary service for the construction of the quake-hit areas to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of PRC.
In the morning of July 13th ,the team , namely “2009 ‘I love my country’ summer holiday social practices activity group of Sichuan University Law School ” was led by Jiang Hua, associate secretary of School Committee of CPC and composed of 20 people including school teachers Zhao Xi and Cai Mingjing, postgraduates and undergraduates. In addition, associate Professor Tao Tao, expert in medical jurisprudence was invited as a VIP to give us professional guidance. After the opening ceremony of 2009 “I Love My Country” summer holiday social practices activity at school, the team left for Lezhi County, Ziyang, which was the destination.
Guided by the principle of “ understanding the condition of the state, getting some education, improving the ability and making contributions” and centering on the two major themes of “I Love My Country” and “ Serve for the Rural Construction”, this summer holiday social practices activity focused on the following three aspects with consideration of the features of law school and the development condition of economy, culture and education in Lezhi county, Ziyang.
First: theme activity of “reviewing the history”. In this part, the group received the revolutionary education and patriotism education by studying and observing the hometown of supreme commander Chen Yi ,which is a “National Red Tourism Spot”. The national spirit and revolutionary tradition they brought back to school would then be better inherited .
Second: the voluntary service to publicize culture. Under the professional guidance of associate professor Tao Tao, expert in medical jurisprudence, the group, with consideration of the group features, publicized the basic health care knowledge and relevant institutions and provisions to people in Lezhi while focusing on the investigation over rural health care problems.
Third: “to witness the development” theme activity. The social research activity—“take on the responsibilities and keep pace with our country ”was carried out to study and observe the 60 years of development since the founding of PRC and 30 years of development since the opening policy in such areas as economy, culture and law.
In line with the conditions of the students themselves and combined with the celebration for 60th anniversary of the founding of PRC , the volunteers service activities for the reconstruction of the quake-hit areas and the improvement of the ecological civilization consciousness of college students, this summer holiday social practices activity came to a successful ending. The group was kindly received by Mr. Zhang Ping, the member of the standing committee of Lezhi county CPC committee and associate county mayor of Lezhi, Mr Tang Yi, director of Lezhi Justice Bureau and other leaders. Friendship was established during the cooperation between the group and Lezhi Justice Bureau. In addition , the activity was greatly supported by Real Estate Development Company of Lezhi High-tech Zone. The activity came to a successful ending on July 15th and the group went back to school.
